About Us
Our Club was chartered in October 1978 with 27 members. A Lions Club sponsors Lioness Clubs. In our case it was Engadine Lions Club. Past District Governor Lion Dennis Weatherall was our Guiding Lion and his Lions Lady Dianne was our Charter President. Each year the sponsoring Lions Club elects a Liaison Officer to work with its Lioness Club. Our club has benefited from this interaction.
Our current membership is 38.
The Lioness Club of Sutherland Shire is very active in fundraising for local charities such as Camp Kookaburra, Sutherland Early Support Service, as well as contributing to many other charities, such as Assistance Dogs Australia, Garvan Research Institute and Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia and Lions projects.
We welcome visitors to our dinner meetings held the 4th Thursday of the month and enquiries about becoming a Lioness.
